LARRY’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM – EVENING
The room is thick with tension. Larry looks exhausted — dark circles, shoulders slumped. Bethany stands in front of him, arms crossed, her tone dripping with sarcasm.
BETHANY
(mocking)
Larry, if you’re so desperate to run to Sharra, then GO. I’m not stopping you!
LARRY
(restless, irritated but controlled)
Bethany… stop it. I can’t do this daily drama anymore.
ACTION:
Bethany steps forward and gives him a light push, nudging him toward the door like she’s kicking him out. Larry stumbles back a little, pain flashing across his eyes.
BETHANY
You always defend her. Every time!
So go on — go stay with her. You two seem to love each other’s company!
Larry goes silent for a moment — like a pressure cooker about to explode.
LARRY
(quietly, defeated)
Bethany… I’m just… tired.
Bethany laughs coldly, unmoved.
CUT TO:
EXT. SHARRA’S HOUSE – NIGHT
Larry walks slowly to Sharra’s door. The sky drizzles lightly, streetlights reflecting off wet pavement — cinematic and heavy. Larry mutters to himself.
LARRY
(under his breath)
Maybe… maybe I’ll find some peace here.
The door opens. Sharra stands there — her eyes carrying old wounds and fresh annoyance.
SHARRA
(hand on hip, full attitude)
Hum–hum, Larry. What do you want now?
LARRY
(soft, guilty)
Sharra… I just wanted to talk.
ACTION:
Sharra shifts her weight back, like she could slam the door any second. Larry’s face falls — he looks broken, desperate.
SHARRA
Look, Larry…
Everything you did in the past? I haven’t forgotten.
So don’t show up here expecting me to play therapist.
LARRY
(voice trembling)
No, Sharra… I’m not here to use you.
I just… I’m suffocating.
Bethany’s yelling, the insults, the drama…
I’m tired of my life.
SHARRA
(sharp smile)
And you thought coming here would make it all better?
Why?
Because you hurt me back then, and now you want ME to comfort YOU?
LARRY
I don’t want anything from you…
I’m just… breaking apart.
Sharra’s expression softens for one second — then she straightens, putting her emotional walls back up.
SHARRA
Your problem, Larry, is simple.
You keep looking for peace in other people’s homes.
But peace doesn’t live here.
Fix your own mess first.
Larry’s eyes swell — he’s on the edge of tears.
CUT TO:
INT. LARRY’S CAR – NIGHT
Larry collapses in the driver’s seat, hands gripping the steering wheel. A tear slips down his cheek.
LARRY
(whispering to himself)
Where do I go…?
Who do I go to…?
His phone buzzes — a message from Bethany:
“Go stay at Sharra’s. I don’t care.”
Larry sets the phone aside. More tears.
ACTION:
Rain intensifies on the windshield — heavy, dramatic.
Larry leans his seat back, resting his head with a dead, defeated stare.
LARRY
(internal monologue)
Maybe I’m trapped between two lives…
Bethany’s chaos…
Sharra’s bitterness…
And no place of my own.
CUT TO:
INT. SHARRA’S HOUSE – WINDOW POV
Sharra stands behind the curtain, secretly watching Larry sit in his car — broken, alone.
Guilt glimmers in her eyes.
SHARRA
(softly)
Poor Larry…
He broke me back then…
And now life is breaking him.
She softens, almost ready to open the door — then stops herself.
SHARRA
(firmly, to herself)
Not this time.
He needs to fix his life first.
CUT BACK TO:
INT. LARRY’S CAR – CONTINUOUS
Larry inhales shakily, wipes his face.
LARRY
Tomorrow…
I’m making a decision.
I won’t be the clown in anyone’s circus anymore.
“What will Larry do next?
Leave Bethany?
Return to Sharra’s heart?
Or choose a new path entirely?”
