''Shayla Loses Control Hugs Anthony for Comfort — But Amber Walks In!😱
Scene: After a stressful rehearsal at the studio
SHAyla bursts into the hallway, wiping her eyes.
ANTHONY follows her slowly.
Conversation
ANTHONY:
Shayla… hey, wait. You okay?
SHAYLA:
(tries to hide her face)
I’m fine. Just— I just need a minute.
ANTHONY:
That didn’t look like “fine” back there. You almost passed out.
SHAYLA:
Everything’s just… piling up. The pressure, the expectations, the way everyone keeps looking at me like I’m supposed to have it all together.
(voice cracks)
I don’t.
ANTHONY:
You don’t have to. Not around me.
SHAYLA:
(shaky breath)
I hate losing control. I hate feeling weak.
ANTHONY:
You’re not weak. You’re human. And honestly? I’m glad you walked out instead of pretending everything was perfect.
SHAYLA:
(finally looks up at him)
I’m scared, Anthony.
ANTHONY:
Of what?
SHAYLA:
…Of failing. Of letting everyone down. Of messing up again.
ANTHONY:
Shay—
(steps closer)
—hey. You don’t have to do this alone. Come here.
SHAYLA:
(voice trembling)
Anthony…
ANTHONY:
It’s okay. I’ve got you.
SHAyla finally breaks.
She steps forward and throws her arms around him, burying her face in his shoulder.
He holds her tightly, steadying her breathing.
ANTHONY:
Just breathe. I’m right here.
SHAYLA:
(muffled)
Thank you… I didn’t know who else to go to.
ANTHONY:
You don’t have to ask. I’m always going to show up for you.
SHAYLA:
(relaxes into him, eyes closed)
I don’t think I’ve ever felt this safe with anyone.
ANTHONY:
Good. You deserve that.
A quiet, warm moment settles between them…
Until—
AMBER enters the hallway.
She stops dead in her tracks.
AMBER:
…Wow.
Really?
SHAYLA & ANTHONY spring apart.
SHAYLA:
Amber— wait, it’s not—
ANTHONY:
Amber, chill. She was upset, that’s it.
AMBER:
(laughs bitterly)
Oh, that’s it? Just a friendly little comfort hug?
Because from where I’m standing, it looks a lot more like something else.
SHAYLA:
You’re misunderstanding. I just— I needed someone to talk to.
AMBER:
And out of everyone here, it had to be him?
ANTHONY:
Hey. She was crying. I wasn’t going to ignore her.
AMBER:
You know what, Anthony? It’s not even about you.
(turns to Shayla, eyes narrowed)
It’s about her. She knows exactly what she’s doing.
SHAYLA:
What? Amber, no— I wasn’t—
AMBER:
Save it. I’m not stupid. I can see when someone’s crossing a line.
SHAYLA:
I wasn’t trying to cross anything— I just broke down, okay?
AMBER:
Yeah? Well you broke down right into his arms.
ANTHONY:
Amber, that’s not fair.
AMBER:
Neither is walking in on this.
(gestures between them)
I trusted both of you.
SHAYLA:
Please… just listen.
AMBER:
I’m done listening.
(turns away)
Clearly, I’m the only one who didn’t get the memo.
Amber storms out, the echo of her footsteps heavy in the hall.
Shayla collapses against the wall, shaken.
SHAYLA:
What have I done…?
ANTHONY:
It’s not your fault. She just needs time.
SHAYLA:
No. No, I should’ve thought. I should’ve—
(covers her face)
This is a mess.
ANTHONY:
Then we’ll fix it. Together.
Shayla looks up at him, uncertain but hopeful.
Amber stops in the doorway, eyes wide, staring at Shayla wrapped in Anthony’s arms.
Shayla quickly steps back, trembling. “Amber… please, let me explain.”
Amber swallows hard, hurt flashing across her face. “I thought I could trust you.”
She turns and walks away before either of them can stop her.
Shayla sinks against the wall, whispering, “What have I done…?”
Anthony stays beside her, steady and calm. “We’ll talk to her. We’ll make it right.”
