Shayla’s sudden stomach pain and Iman rushing her to the hospital.😱
The Night Everything Changed for Shayla and Iman
It started like any ordinary evening. The sun had just dipped below the horizon, and the city lights flickered to life. Shayla was sitting on the couch, scrolling through her phone, laughing at a video she wanted to show Iman. But suddenly, her laughter stopped. She pressed her hand against her stomach, her face twisting in pain.
At first, Iman thought it was just something minor — maybe something Shayla ate. But the pain didn’t stop. It only got worse. Within minutes, Shayla was doubled over, tears streaming down her face, her breathing shallow.
“Iman… it hurts… it hurts so bad,” she whispered.
Iman’s heart started racing. He didn’t waste another second. Grabbing the car keys, he helped Shayla to her feet, half-carrying her out the door. The ride to the hospital felt endless. Every red light, every slow car in front of them — it was torture. Shayla’s cries filled the car, and Iman could barely hold himself together.
When they finally arrived at the emergency room, nurses rushed out with a wheelchair. Shayla’s skin was pale, her hands cold. Iman followed, his mind spinning with fear. He had never seen her like this before.
Doctors surrounded Shayla in the examination room. They asked questions Iman could barely process — when did the pain start, what did she eat, any allergies, any previous conditions? He answered as best he could, his voice trembling.
Then came the longest hour of his life. He waited outside the room, pacing back and forth, staring at the hospital clock. Every second felt like a lifetime. He replayed every moment in his head, wondering if he had missed any warning signs.
Finally, a doctor came out, his face serious.
“Are you her husband?” the doctor asked.
Iman nodded quickly.
“She’s stable now,” the doctor said. “But it’s good you brought her in when you did. The pain was caused by a severe infection — it could have been dangerous if delayed any longer.”
Iman let out a shaky breath, relief washing over him like a wave. He went into the room and saw Shayla lying there, weak but smiling faintly. He took her hand and whispered, “You scared me to death, you know that?”
Shayla gave a soft laugh. “I scared myself too.”
That night, as Iman sat beside her hospital bed, he realized how quickly life can change — how one ordinary evening can turn into a nightmare. But more than that, he realized how strong Shayla really was, and how much he loved her.
The pain was gone, but the memory of that night would stay with them forever — a reminder that sometimes, even in the darkest moments, love and courage shine the brightest.
