As Larry discusses the TV with Sharra, Bethany quietly listens in.
Larry had finally reached his breaking point.
Bethany’s constant actions, questions, and excuses had drained him completely. He sat on the edge of the bed, rubbing his temples, his face heavy with frustration. He wasn’t angry anymore—he was exhausted. ๐
Bethany noticed it immediately.
“Larry… please,” she said softly, trying to sound calm. “You’ve been distant all morning.”
Larry didn’t respond
Determined to fix things, Bethany decided to do what she always did when things went wrong—she cooked. ๐ฅ๐ณ She made his favorite breakfast, carefully placing the plate in front of him like a peace offering.
“I made this for you,” she said, forcing a smile. “We can talk, okay?”
Larry looked at the food, then at her.
“I don’t want to talk,” he replied coldly. “Not today.”
That hurt.
Bethany sighed, trying again. “I’m just trying to make things better.”
But Larry stood up, grabbing his phone. His voice was tense.
“I need some air.”
Bethany watched him walk away, confused and unsettled. Something felt off.
A few minutes later, Larry stepped outside and dialed Sharra’s number. ๐
“Hey,” Sharra said cheerfully. “You okay? You sound stressed.”
Larry hesitated. “Yeah… just a lot going on.”
There was a brief pause before Sharra spoke again.
“Larry, I wanted to ask you something about the TV—”
Larry immediately cut her off.
“Sharra, listen to me carefully,” he said firmly. “I don’t want you telling anyone about the TV. Especially Bethany.”
Sharra sounded surprised. “Why? It was just a gift—”
“I know,” Larry interrupted again. “But please… don’t mention it to anyone. I mean it.”
“Okay,” Sharra replied slowly. “If that’s what you want.”
Larry exhaled, relieved. “Thank you. I just want peace.”
What Larry didn’t know… was that peace was already slipping away. ๐ฌ
---
Inside the house, Bethany had frozen mid-step.
She had come looking for Larry—but instead, she overheard everything. Every word. Every pause. Every secret. ๐๐ฅ
Her heart started pounding.
The TV? Gift? Don’t tell Bethany?
Her mind raced, connecting dots she didn’t even want to see.
Larry ended the call and turned around—only to find Bethany standing there, arms crossed, eyes burning with suspicion.
“Who were you talking to?” she asked calmly… too calmly.
Larry stiffened. “No one. Just a quick call.”
Bethany raised an eyebrow. “Really? Because it sounded important.”
“It’s nothing,” Larry replied, clearly wanting to end the conversation. “Can we not do this right now?”
But Bethany wasn’t letting it go.
“I heard you say ‘TV,’” she said sharply. “Why are you talking to Sharra about a TV?”
Larry’s jaw tightened. “Bethany, stop. I don’t want to argue.”
That was the wrong answer. ๐ค
“So now I’m imagining things?” Bethany snapped. “You literally told her not to tell anyone—especially me.”
Larry ran a hand through his hair. “You shouldn’t have been listening.”
“Oh, so now it’s my fault?” she laughed bitterly. “Classic.”
He tried to walk past her, but she stepped in front of him.
“No,” she said. “You’re not walking away this time.”
Larry’s voice dropped. “I said I’m done talking.”
Bethany stared at him for a moment… then spoke the question that changed everything.
“Did you buy Sharra a TV?”
Silence. ๐ถ
Larry didn’t answer—and that was answer enough.
Bethany’s eyes widened. “You did,” she whispered. “You actually did.”
“It wasn’t like that,” Larry said quickly. “You’re blowing this out of proportion.”
“Out of proportion?” Bethany shouted. “You bought her a TV and then told her to hide it from me!”
Larry raised his voice. “Because I knew you’d react like this!”
“Oh, so I’m the problem again?” she yelled back. “Not your secret gifts. Not your lies. ME.”
The argument exploded.
Voices echoed through the house. Accusations flew. Old issues resurfaced. What started as a quiet morning turned into complete chaos. ๐ฅ
Bethany pointed at him, furious. “This is why I don’t trust you!”
Larry shook his head. “I’m tired, Bethany. I’m tired of defending myself.”
The breakfast sat untouched on the table, cold and forgotten—just like the peace Bethany had tried so hard to create. ๐ฅ❄️
And just like that… a new storm had begun.
As Larry discusses the TV with Sharra Bethany quietly listens in.
