They lock eyes. Suspense hangs in the air.

Scene 2: A Deal in the Shadows

Setting: Parking lot at night. Bethany waits nervously. Joel walks up.

Bethany: You know what to do. Get close to her. Make it real.

Joel: And you’ll keep paying?

Bethany: As long as Larry sees you with Sharra… and starts thinking about her again.
