Larry will be shocked to see that his mail was already opened.

Larry arrives home in the evening after a long day at work. The house feels unusually quiet. He drops his keys on the counter and, out of habit, glances toward the dining area. 🏠

Larry (to himself):

“Why is it so quiet in here?”

As he walks toward the dining table, his eyes land on a small stack of envelopes resting near the edge. 📬 He slows down.

Larry:

“Oh… mail came today.”

He picks up the envelopes one by one—bills, flyers, regular letters. Then his hand freezes. One envelope has his name clearly printed on it.

Larry stares at it for a moment.

Larry (confused):

“Wait… this is mine.”

He turns it over, then looks closer. His eyebrows pull together.

Larry:

“This is already opened.”

He opens it again just to be sure, then closes it. His expression shifts from confusion to shock. 😳

Larry (under his breath):

“I didn’t open this… so who did?”

He scans the room as if the answer might be sitting there. A deep breath leaves his chest, but the irritation starts to build. 😠 He places the envelope down a little harder than necessary.

Larry (raising his voice):

Bethany! Can you come here for a second?”

Bethany walks in from the kitchen, calm and casual, wiping her hands.

Bethany:

“What’s going on? Why are you yelling?”

Larry holds up the envelope.

Larry:

“Do you know whose mail this is?”

Bethany glances at it briefly.

Bethany:

“Looks like yours.”

Larry (firmly):

“Then why is it already open?”

Bethany pauses for a split second, then shrugs.

Bethany:

“I don’t know. I didn’t open it.”

Larry watches her closely. His eyes narrow.

Larry:

“You’re sure? Because when I left this morning, this wasn’t here.”

Bethany’s tone sharpens.

Bethany:

“Larry, I’m telling you—I didn’t open your mail.”

Larry exhales slowly, trying to stay calm.

Larry:

“We’ve been married a long time. We don’t open each other’s mail. That’s always been about respect.”

Bethany folds her arms.

Bethany:

“So now you’re accusing me?”

Larry:

“I’m asking a question.”

The tension in the room thickens. 😐 Larry pulls the papers from the envelope and scans them, his jaw tightening.

Larry:

“All I want to know is this—did you open my mail without asking me?”

Bethany looks him straight in the eye.

Bethany:

“No. Absolutely not.”

Larry doesn’t respond right away. He places the papers back inside and sets the envelope on the table.

Larry:

“Then someone crossed a line, because this is personal.”

Silence fills the room. 🕯️ Bethany shifts uncomfortably but says nothing.

Larry:

“I’m not letting this go. I need the truth.”

Bethany remains quiet, avoiding his eyes. Larry can feel it—this isn’t over. Whatever really happened, it’s about to come out.

And when it does… things are going to explode. 😶‍🌫️

Larry will be shocked to see that his mail was already opened.
