Amber: Tell me this is a joke. Please tell me this is some kind of sick joke.
Lawyer (Ms. Greene): Amber, I wouldn’t joke about this. We filed the motion this morning. If the judge approves it, Anthony’s accounts will be frozen within forty-eight hours.
Amber: Forty-eight hours… (puts hand over mouth) He doesn’t know yet, does he?
Ms. Greene: Not officially. His attorney will be notified first. After that, the banks.
Amber: God. He’s going to lose his mind.
Anthony: (on the phone, pacing) Hey, why did my credit card just decline? I have money in that account. I know I do.
Friend (Marcus): Uh… decline? Like fully declined?
Anthony: Yes, fully declined. I tried twice. Then I checked my app and it says “account access pending review.” What the hell does that even mean?
Marcus: Anthony… man… did Amber say anything recently? About lawyers? Courts?
Anthony: (voice sharpens) What are you not telling me?
Amber: I didn’t want it to come to this. I really didn’t.
Ms. Greene: You gave him six months to comply. Six. He ignored every notice, every mediation request, and continued moving money around.
Amber: Because he thinks he’s smarter than everyone else.
Ms. Greene: Because he thinks you won’t follow through.
Anthony: (calling Amber, furious) Did you do this?
Amber: Hello to you too.
Anthony: Don’t play games. My accounts are being frozen. Was that you?
Amber: I warned you, Anthony. Over and over again.
Anthony: You’re trying to ruin me!
Amber: No. I’m trying to protect myself.
Anthony: Protect yourself from what? I paid what I could!
Amber: You paid what you felt like paying. Meanwhile, you bought a new car and took your girlfriend to Miami.
Anthony: That money wasn’t yours!
Amber: The court disagrees.
Bank Notification (Email): Account status: Frozen. Disbursements redirected per court order.
Anthony stared at the screen, unmoving. No yelling this time. No one to call. Every door he’d slammed shut was now locked from the outside.
Anthony’s Lawyer: I won’t lie to you. This went worse than expected.
Anthony: (chuckles hollowly) That’s one way to put it.
Lawyer: If you cooperate now, you might recover some access in a few months.
Anthony: Months… (shakes head) I had years to fix this, didn’t I?
Lawyer: Yes. You did.
Across town, Amber signed the final paperwork.
Ms. Greene: This concludes enforcement. He can’t move another dollar without court approval.
Amber: So it’s really over.
Ms. Greene: Legally? Yes. Emotionally… that’s up to you.
Amber paused, pen hovering for just a second—then she signed.
Anthony: Wait—Amber—
Amber: Goodbye, Anthony.
