“Daddy… they laughed at me again 😢. My outfit wasn’t good enough,” Destiny said, her voice trembling as she finally let the pain spill out.
2. A Promise of Comfort
Larry knelt beside her, his eyes filled with understanding. He knew words alone couldn’t erase the hurt—but support could begin the healing.
“Sweetheart, you are amazing just the way you are 💖,” he said softly. “How about we turn tomorrow into something special and go shopping together?”
Hope flickered across Destiny’s face, like light breaking through heavy clouds.

From the other room, Bethany listened quietly. Her expression didn’t change, but her thoughts were already racing. She had her reasons—reasons she kept carefully to herself.

The mall buzzed with movement and color. As Destiny tried on outfit after outfit, something changed—not just in her reflection, but in her posture, her smile, her eyes.
“Look at you! You’re glowing 😍,” Brooke said proudly. “That color is perfect on you,” Bethany added, calm and encouraging.
Bethany stayed focused—counting cash, keeping things smooth, watching everything carefully. To anyone else, she was just being responsible. But to herself, she knew she was protecting the day.

As the sun dipped lower and shopping bags rustled softly, Destiny felt lighter. The teasing no longer echoed so loudly in her mind. Today had given her something stronger—confidence.
“Thank you… all of you,” Destiny said with a genuine smile. “Today really mattered to me.”
Larry nodded with pride. Brooke hugged her tightly. Bethany smiled—subtle, satisfied.
