The sun slipped behind heavy gray clouds, casting a muted glow across Larry’s living room. The ticking wall clock echoed through the silence as Larry sat slouched on the sofa, a mug of cold coffee forgotten in his hand.

Then his phone buzzed sharply on the table.

He glanced down — and his heart tightened. Lynette.

LARRY: Hello…? 📞

LYNETTE: Larry! 😡 I just found out Bethany wants to go to Montana with you! How could you even let this happen?! 😤

Larry ran a hand through his hair. He had expected this — but hearing her anger made it real.

LARRY: Lynette… calm down. I haven’t decided anything yet. Bethany is just… thinking aloud. 😅
