Brooke Overhears Bethany Talking About Sharra’s House

Brooke Overhears Bethany Talking About the Size of Sharra’s House

The room went quiet…

Not the peaceful kind of quiet.

The dangerous kind — the kind where somebody just said too much, and the wrong person heard every word.

Bethany stood in the kitchen, arms folded, voice dripping with jealousy she didn’t even bother to hide.

“That house don’t even make sense,” she scoffed. “All them rooms for what? Who she think she is?”

Larry stood there like he always did — silent, uncomfortable, weak. Not agreeing. Not stopping it either.

And that’s when the camera slowly shifted…

Brooke was standing in the hallway.

Still. Calm. Listening.

Every. Single. Word.

The Jealousy Bethany Can’t Let Go

Bethany had been talking about Sharra’s house for days now.

First it was too “ghetto” when Sharra lived in an apartment.

Now?

Now the house was too big.

Too nice.

Too many rooms.

Too much champagne and caviar for someone Bethany believed didn’t deserve it.

“She just doing too much,” Bethany continued. “That kind of house make people forget they place.”

Larry rubbed his face. “Bethany… chill.”

But the damage was already done.

Because Brooke stepped fully into the kitchen.

Brooke Speaks — And Bethany Wasn’t Ready

“You talking about my mama?”

The way Brooke said it wasn’t loud.

It wasn’t disrespectful.

It was worse.

It was controlled.

Bethany turned slowly, fake smile loading on her face. “Girl, nobody talking about your mom—”

“You are,” Brooke interrupted. “And you been doing it for a while.”

Larry finally looked up. “Brooke—”

She held up her hand.

“No. You let her talk. I just wanna understand something.”

Brooke walked closer.

“Who died and made you the landlord?”

Bethany’s face tightened.

“I’m just saying, that house is excessive.”

Brooke laughed once. Sharp.

“Then don’t live in it.”

“Get You Another House”

The words hit Bethany like a slap.

“This my dad’s house,” Brooke continued calmly. “Not yours. If my mama house bothering you that bad—”

She shrugged.

“Go get you another house.”

Larry shifted uncomfortably.

Bethany snapped, “Don’t get grown with me.”

Brooke didn’t flinch.

“Then stop talking grown business about my mama.”

The silence was loud.

Too loud.

Bethany searched Larry’s face for backup.

She didn’t get it.

Larry’s Silence Speaks Louder Than Words

“Larry,” Bethany said sharply. “You gonna let her talk to me like that?”

Larry opened his mouth.

Closed it.

Brooke nodded. “That’s what I thought.”

She grabbed her phone.

“I’m calling my mama.”

Bethany’s eyes widened. “Oh now you snitching?”

Brooke paused at the doorway.

“No. I’m informing.”

And she walked out.

The Threat of Sharra

Bethany laughed nervously. “She dramatic.”

Larry finally spoke.

“You need to stop talking about Sharra.”

Bethany spun around. “Oh now you got something to say?”

He sighed. “You doing too much.”

Bethany scoffed. “That girl house got you acting different.”

And for the first time…

Larry didn’t deny it.

Montana Is Coming

Later that night, Brooke sat in her room, phone pressed to her ear.

“She still talking about your house,” she told Sharra. “Like it’s haunting her.”

On the other end, Sharra was quiet.

Too quiet.

“I figured,” she said calmly. “Tell her I’ll see her in Montana.”

Brooke swallowed.

“You sure?”

Sharra’s voice hardened.

“She wanted my attention. Now she got it.”

Ending Hook

Bethany lay awake that night.

Every room in Sharra’s house replaying in her mind.

Every word Brooke said echoing louder.

And one terrifying thought refusing to let her sleep:

What happens when Sharra finally checks her… in Montana?
