Arrival
Bethany and Larry enter the hospital, passing the reception. Lynette is already seated, small bag in her lap. Bethany’s eyes narrow, and a sharp undercurrent of tension fills the air.
BETHANY (under her breath, muttering): Really? You’re here… again?
LYNETTE (raising an eyebrow, calm): Bethany… watch your tone.
BETHANY (voice sharp, stepping closer): Or what? You’ll glare at me like last time?
Larry shifts uncomfortably, glancing between them. He opens his mouth but hesitates.
LARRY: Bethany… maybe calm down…
BETHANY (ignoring him, furious): No, Larry. She needs to hear this!
Confrontation Escalates
Bethany steps directly in front of Lynette, pointing. Other patients glance over, sensing the tension.
BETHANY: You have no idea what you’ve done! Acting all high and mighty—like you’re better than everyone else!
LYNETTE (calm, faint sigh): Bethany… enough. Sit down before you make a scene.
BETHANY (mocking, louder): Make a scene? You’ve already done that! Every time I turn around, you’re… judging me!
LYNETTE (firm, warning): Bethany… I said enough.
BETHANY (cutting her off, voice rising): No! You need to hear me!
Bethany throws her hands up, pacing aggressively. Larry steps closer, trying to calm her, but she brushes him off.
LARRY: Bethany… please, stop! People are staring.
BETHANY (angry, snapping): I’m done staying quiet!
Lines Crossed
Bethany leans closer to Lynette, face flushed, fists clenched. Lynette reaches for her phone subtly.
LYNETTE (quietly, cold): Bethany… this has gone far enough.
BETHANY (bitter laugh, stepping back slightly): Far enough? You haven’t even felt the real me yet!
Nearby patients shift nervously. A nurse watches cautiously.
LYNETTE (raising voice, resolute): Bethany! That’s it.
Lynette dials a number. Bethany’s eyes widen in shock.
BETHANY (confused, panicked): What are you doing?
LYNETTE (calm, decisive): Calling the police. You need to understand your behavior has consequences.
Bethany freezes, chest heaving. Larry steps forward, trying to intervene.
LARRY: Lynette… wait, let’s just calm down—
BETHANY (furious, interrupting): No! You don’t get to stop this!
Realization
The sound of distant sirens begins. Bethany paces, muttering under her breath. Larry tries to reason with her.
LARRY: Bethany… this is serious. You need to calm down.
BETHANY (muttering, furious): I… I can’t let her win.
LYNETTE (cold, unwavering): The police are on their way.
Bethany steps back, panic flashing. She takes a deep breath, eyes locked on Lynette.
BETHANY (whispering, tense): This… this isn’t over…
LARRY (softly): Bethany… we need to think. Just think.
BETHANY (voice breaking, quiet fury): Think? You think she can just… control everything like this? No!
Cliffhanger
Police cars pull up outside, red and blue lights flashing through the windows. Other patients whisper and move aside, phones out, recording. Bethany stands in the middle of the waiting area, defiance and fear warping her features. Larry places a gentle hand on her shoulder; she pulls away sharply.
LYNETTE (calm, unwavering): Bethany… consequences always follow actions.
BETHANY (angry, muttering): I… I’ll fix this… somehow…
The camera pans across the tense scene—the hospital waiting area, flashing lights, growing chaos. Bethany frozen, Larry helpless, Lynette unshaken.
