Rooftop Proposal Interrupted
A ROOFTOP.
A PROPOSAL.
AN INTERRUPTION.
When love finally speaks… the past refuses to stay silent 🌙
The evening air was thick with tension — the kind that presses against the chest. Sharra stood at the edge of the rooftop, city lights flickering below like the thoughts she couldn’t silence. Beside her, Joul stood still — steady, present, waiting.
JOUL (quietly): “I’m tired of pretending this is just friendship.”
Months of misunderstandings. Unspoken feelings. Distance that never truly erased what lived between them.
Before Sharra could respond, her phone vibrated sharply.

Larry.
LARRY (cold): “Where are you?”
The call was sharp. Heavy. Larry demanded an apology — for honesty, for choosing herself.
SHARRA (firm): “No, Larry. I won’t apologize for something I didn’t do wrong.”
Joul watched her closely, his eyes soft.

JOUL: “And what do *you* want, Sharra?”
SHARRA (whispering): “I want to stop being afraid. I want something real.”
Joul stepped back. His hands trembled as he reached into his pocket.
He dropped to one knee.

JOUL: “Sharra… will you choose me?”
Footsteps echoed.
A familiar voice cut through the moment.

LARRY: “Unbelievable. A public proposal?”
Sharra straightened — fear turning into resolve.

SHARRA: “This isn’t about you anymore, Larry.”
Joul stepped in front of her.

JOUL (calm): “She’s not pretending. She’s choosing.”
Larry’s anger flickered — then faded into something heavier.

LARRY (soft): “You’re underestimating what this will cost.”
He turned and walked away, leaving silence behind.
But his words stayed.
JOUL (gently): “You don’t have to answer now. I don’t want to pressure you.”

Sharra looked at the city below… then back at Joul.

Her phone buzzed once more.

The night wasn’t over.
And neither was the decision
that would change everything.
