Bethany’s heels clicked sharply against the polished floor as she entered the living room. The chandelier’s glow reflected in her eyes—focused, unblinking, dangerous.
She had seen enough. And now, Larry would hear every word.

Larry looked up from the couch, a folder frozen in his hands.
“Bethany… I didn’t expect you back so soon,” he said carefully.
“We need to talk. Now,” she replied, arms folding, voice steady but loaded.

“I saw you yesterday,” Bethany said, stepping closer.
“You gave Sharra six hundred and fifty dollars.”
Larry stiffened. “Beth… it’s not what you think—”
“I’m your wife,” she cut in sharply. “And yet you handed her money like I didn’t exist.”

“Sharra needed it for Brooke and Destiny,” Larry tried to explain.
Bethany’s voice dropped to a dangerous whisper.
“When I’m your wife, not her—do you even hear yourself?”
Her palm struck the table, the sound echoing louder than her words.

“You didn’t think,” Bethany said quietly. “That’s your mistake.”
“The right thing isn’t just money—it’s honesty. And you broke mine.”
Larry stood exposed, unable to argue, unable to undo what had already been done.

She turned toward the window, her silhouette sharp against the fading light.
