“I came here for peace.”

Larry paused.

“I didn’t come here to fight.”

“Then why did you come?”

“You came all this way… for us?”
Bethany nodded.
“Yes.”

“You can stay… for a few days.”
Bethany blinked in surprise.
“Stay?”
Larry nodded.
“But not to fight.”
Bethany smiled slightly.
“Just to understand.”
