Brooke Tried to Stop Him — But Isaiah Went Too Far Until Larry Appeared

Backyard Confrontation

INT. BACKYARD – EVENING

The evening sky fades slowly from soft orange to deep blue. A gentle breeze moves through the backyard trees, carrying the quiet sound of crickets in the distance.

Behind the house, away from the noise inside, the backyard feels private… almost too quiet.

Two figures stand near the wooden fence.

A Private Conversation

BROOKE stands with her arms folded, trying to stay calm. ISAIAH leans casually against the fence, watching her carefully.

ISAIAH
You’ve been acting different lately.

BROOKE
Different how?

ISAIAH
Quiet. Distant. Like you're avoiding me.

Brooke sighs softly.

BROOKE
I’m not avoiding you. I’ve just been thinking about things.

ISAIAH
About us?

Brooke nods slowly.

BROOKE
About what we said… about how we feel. And about where we’re going.

Setting Boundaries

Isaiah straightens up and steps closer.

ISAIAH
You know I care about you, right?

BROOKE
I know.

ISAIAH
Then why does it feel like you’re putting up walls?

Brooke hesitates before answering.

BROOKE
Because I want things to be right.

ISAIAH
What does that mean?

BROOKE
It means I want to wait… until marriage.

Isaiah blinks in surprise.

ISAIAH
Wait? Seriously?

BROOKE
Yes. That’s important to me.

ISAIAH
But we already know how we feel about each other.

BROOKE
Exactly. That’s why I want to protect it.

For a moment, neither of them speaks.

The Moment Changes

Isaiah steps even closer.

His hand gently touches Brooke’s waist.

BROOKE
Isaiah…

He leans in, his voice softer now.

ISAIAH
You don’t have to be scared.

Brooke places a hand on his chest.

BROOKE
I’m not scared. I just said I’m not ready.

But Isaiah doesn’t move back.

Instead, he grips her arms slightly tighter.

BROOKE
Isaiah… stop.

ISAIAH
I’m not forcing anything.

BROOKE
Yes you are.

Her voice trembles now.

BROOKE
Let go of me.

The wind suddenly feels colder.

The quiet backyard no longer feels safe.

An Unexpected Voice

LARRY (O.S.)
What exactly is going on here?

Both of them freeze instantly.

Isaiah quickly releases Brooke’s arms.

Brooke steps backward, shaken.

LARRY walks slowly across the backyard, his expression calm… but serious.

ISAIAH
We were just talking.

LARRY
It didn’t look like just talking.

Larry’s eyes move to Brooke.

LARRY
Are you alright?

Brooke nods slowly, though her hands are still trembling.

BROOKE
I told him to stop.

The Power Shift

The air grows heavy with tension.

Isaiah shifts uncomfortably under Larry’s gaze.

Larry speaks calmly — but his voice carries authority.

LARRY
Brooke… go inside.

Brooke hesitates for a moment before nodding.

She walks toward the house without looking back.

Now only Larry and Isaiah remain in the dark backyard.

Larry takes one slow step closer.

Isaiah swallows nervously.

CUT TO BLACK

We don’t hear the words Larry says next.

But Isaiah’s expression slowly changes.

Confidence fades into unease.

Whatever Larry tells him… it’s something he won’t forget.
